Kitty Morgan

Composer / Writer / Lyricist

Kitty Morgan is a writer, composer and lyricist who lives in Essex, UK, with her husband and their two young sons. 

Mentored by Claude Michel Schonberg, Kitty’s music and lyrics have been heard in productions on London’s West End, UK Regional tours, Off West End and on television.

Following her masters degree in Playwriting, tutored by David Edgar and Moira Buffini, Kitty has enjoyed developing many musicals and plays.

Kitty’s work THIS DYING STAR was programmed at The Prince of Wales Theatre on London’s West End as a part of Janie Dee’s Old Friends. After featuring at BEAM and Musical Bites at The Other Palace, her new musical THE HIGHWAYMAN received a UK regional tour, co-produced by Norwich Theatre. THE HIGHWAYMAN continues to be developed into 2026. 

Kitty’s new show 88 KEYS, a two-woman musical about a mid-life crisis and a life-long love affair with a piano, has been workshopped at The Arcola and The Other Palace, and will be developed with support from Steinway & Sons during 2026.

Kitty’s new viking epic VALHALLA was produced at Musical Bites at The Other Palace in 2025 and continues to be developed. 

The National Youth Music Theatre workshopped the first and second draft of Kitty’s new musical THE MURDER FAIR in summer 2024 and 2025, and the British Youth Musical Theatre will be workshopping FATES, on which Kitty is book writer in 2026. 

Kitty has been commissioned by Feral Productions to develop a new musical, HUSH NOW, about mother and baby homes.

Commissioned works include JOHN COURTNEY’S JANE EYRE (The Bronte Society), IF IT’S NOT ON IT’S NOT ON (The Microbiology Society). Produced works include THE WATER IS NO PLACE TO PLAY (Theatre 503) starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, WUTHERING HEIGHTS (Workshopped at The Other Palace and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds), NEVER LAND (ITV1’s Fortune, Outdoor theatre at Kensington Gardens, The Colourhouse Theatre) and HUSH, LITTLE BABY (The Canal Cafe Theatre).

Kitty is a member of Mercury Musical Development’s Advanced LAB, where she continues to receive mentoring and to develop her craft.
